Dec 31, 2020 — Bars in Fort Wayne shifted some plans to safely celebrate New Years Eve
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) -- Some bars here in Fort Wayne celebrated New Year's Eve a little different, ringing in the new year.
Welch's Ale House and Tower Bar and Grill had some changes in place in how they celebrated.
With the ongoing pandemic, it was all about sticking with safety precautions.
"We're going to keep being safe,” Front of House Manager of Welch’s Ale House David Skalicyk said. “We're going to keep operating at 50 percent and we'll be closing at 10 o’clock.
They would usually have a band or comedian come to the ale house, but that wasn't possible.
However, they still wanted to make it special for those who support them.
“That's kind of a special thing,” Skalicyk said. “In restaurants, you build relationships over time and I personally get to spend a lot of my time that I get to see on a regular basis.”
